Editors spend a third of our lives in the timeline. It should be fantastic. Scrub, zoom, scroll around in a timeline so good you'll be opening projects just to move around in them, with a better sense of place, context and smoothness than any other editor's timeline.

Lightweight

Blick loads instantly. We're writing it from scratch with performance in mind. Double click and you're editing. No long loading screen, just launch the program, and you're put right into a blank project.

Export and Import XML

Move your edit in and out of whatever app you currently have to put up with using XML. While we're still building out the feature set, you can do your editing in Blick, and finishing in other software.

Portable project files

No more "establishing" "project libraries". You get simple solid project files that save straight to a folder on disk, and open instantly. Relative file paths actually work and let you trivially work on and move the project across external disks and cloud drives.

See what's going on inside your media. These intuitive patterns will naturally inform your sense of place, and assist you in finding your way around the project.

The Plan

You know when you need to extract a small part of a clip, so you change to the cut tool, cut the left side of what you want, cut the right side of what you want, change back to the move tool, select the middle, copy it, undo the left cut, undo the right cut, go where you want the clip to go, and then paste it? There are a million annoying things like that you're probably so used to you don't even realize how annoying they are. Once you experience life without them, you'll be shocked you ever put up with anything else.
